Federation clashes and Beta: ask your questions here!

In the article posted today (here: https://www.managerzone.com/?p=news&nid=110716) we have gone through the new clash feature and provided some dates regarding the beta. Please read through that article if you haven’t already. We are aware that this might seem like a daunting new feature, so we encourage you to ask questions here if things are unclear. Note that we have intentionally left out information regarding the new federation league table and ranking, to avoid dropping too much information at once. In this thread, we would ideally like to discuss the following things: - How to set your federation first team up to play clashes - How to play clashes - And questions regarding the Beta which will be launched next week (at which point we will also provide more detailed information regarding the beta) Also be aware that we might not be able to answer questions during evenings and weekends, but we will do our best to answer all your questions as quickly as we can.In the article posted today (here: https://www.managerzone.com/?p=news&nid=110716) we have gone through the new clash feature and provided some dates regarding the beta. We are aware that this might seem like a daunting new feature, so we encourage you to ask questions here if things are unclear. - How to set your federation first team up to play clashes
- How to play clashes
- And questions regarding the Beta which will be launched next week (at which point we will also provide more detailed information regarding the beta)

Also be aware that we might not be able to answer questions during evenings and weekends, but we will do our best to answer all your questions as quickly as we can.

@fabrigremista: thank you for the suggestions. 😊 These are the steps involved if you want to play in clashes (taken from the news article): [ul][li] Join a federation, if you haven't already. You can join one now for free! (One in each sport.)[/li] [li] Check the "I am available for the first team" checkbox.[/li] [li] Then wait to get selected. You will receive a notification when this happens, and your name will also appear among the first team members list on the federations front page.[/li][/ul] Once you have done this, you are ready to start playing clashes next season, provided that the federation you have joined have at least 8 first team members so it qualifies for the federation league.@fabrigremista: thank you for the suggestions. 😊

Home matches will get you a small income. We have deliberately made this small because we don't want managers to feel like they have to play in clashes to be competitive. Currently we have not planned any rewards in the Federations League, but most likely we will add some type of rewards at some point. Maybe some perk that the federation can use in order to be more competitive. Yes, you will always chose one of your tactics, which will be used when the opponent federation member challenge you. To maybe understand this a little bit better, think of [b]scout matches[/b]. When you initiate a scout match against any other user on ManagerZone, you will actually face the exact team that they used in their latest league match. In clashes, it works in a similar way, but instead you will face the tactic that your opponent have chosen for the upcoming clash. And when others challenge you to a match within a clash, they will face the tactic that you have chosen to use in that clash. When the deadline for a clash has passed, this tactic can no longer be changed.

Yes, you will always chose one of your tactics, which will be used when the opponent federation member challenge you.

To maybe understand this a little bit better, think of scout matches. When you initiate a scout match against any other user on ManagerZone, you will actually face the exact team that they used in their latest league match. In clashes, it works in a similar way, but instead you will face the tactic that your opponent have chosen for the upcoming clash.

And when others challenge you to a match within a clash, they will face the tactic that you have chosen to use in that clash. When the deadline for a clash has passed, this tactic can no longer be changed.

A new feature has been added and there is now a bug where when a user logs into the game using their mobile phone and checks the box to become a member of Tier 1 on their mobile phone, the interface shows that the box has been confirmed, but after refreshing the page, the box is automatically unchecked. All league administrators cannot see the new members. We have tried but are not able to recreate your problem. Do you know if this is happening to someone else or is this only happening to you? It is possible that, if you have a slow internet connection, the system doesn't have time to record the change. Can you try and wait 1 minute after you have checked the box to see if it makes any difference? Just so we can rule that out. Can you also tell me which browser you are using on your phone? Thank you!

We have tried but are not able to recreate your problem. Do you know if this is happening to someone else or is this only happening to you? Ok, thanks for the additional information. We tried it here with Firefox and kiwi and it worked for us (were not able to download UC). We will keep searching for an explanation for this issue.

If the first team is full, your chances might not be so high, but if there are empty spots, they are probably looking for first team members. I think what you need to do is ask the people in charge of the federation or ask in the message board (provided that you are already in the federation as a normal member). Federations is, and has always been, a team effort, so some level of communication between members will probably be needed.

FYI: You will notice it is possible to play scout matches against opponents during a clash. When playing a clash scout match, you will play against the [b]away tactic[/b] that the user has prepared, and you can play as many clash scout matches as you want (against any opponent). Just wanted to let you all know we have added 10 free clash scout credits for everyone, so you can test this feature. We probably wont be adding more of these free credits (although you will probably be able to gain them as rewards in the future), so use them wisely. 😊 It will be possible to play more scout matches once you run out of credits, but it will cost 2 PT as scout matches usually do.FYI: You will notice it is possible to play scout matches against opponents during a clash. When playing a clash scout match, you will play against the away tactic that the user has prepared, and you can play as many clash scout matches as you want (against any opponent). No, but you will be able to join the league at some point in August. We will do a reboot of the league and add any new federations. If you want to try playing clashes I suggest to join the first team of any federation that is currently in the league, there are plenty with open first team spots.

Yeah I think this is a really good suggestion actually. We will consider it! This might not be a priority for now, but to me it seems like a logical step. As a user looking for a federation to join, that would be pretty handy. And also when you are scouting a federation for an upcoming clash, you may want to quickly get to the their previous clashes to check out how they usually play. In the future there will be even more of a need for it, since I am expecting that we will add other types of contests (maybe tournaments) where you will face other federations through clashes. So we will need a page where we assemble all the clashes a federation has played (and will play) similar to fixtures and results.

Hola! Queria entender bien como son los partidos perdidos por forfeit, este este nuevo clash, nuestra federacion tiene 13 equipos y la rival tiene 16. Entiendo deberiamos tener 6 partidos perdidos por forfeit (2 por cada equipo faltante). Pero tenemos solo 3 partidos perdidos. como funciona esto? GraciasHola! This challenge is not practical.. things are very manual and there is a gap between federations. Small countries in the amount of teams, manages to gather the top teams easily. This challenge can be senior but it has to have leveling in the divisions. An example federation in Spain that had 140 teams in the last National Cup, all div1 or top league teams facing federations from countries that have 700 active teams. Consequently big countries will not be able to gather the best teams in one/two federations and it will be more balanced to attack but against small federations there is nothing to do.What am I going to do if a small federation of small countries only has a div1 or top league team and the big federations even have a div5 team? The senior division has to be limited by divisional categories. even because everyone knows who is in div1 in a small country has more revenue than who is in div3/4 of large countries.This challenge is not practical.. things are very manual and there is a gap between federations.

This has to be reviewed... This challenge needs to be more automated, play every day, have team level equalization... All teams face each other and not choose an opponent. How am I going to choose an opponent if I have div3/4 teams or that play sub category against small federation of small parents in MZ and only div1?This has to be reviewed... Maybe I missunderstood something, are you complaining about facing D1 or top teams from small Countries? I'm playing with a U17 team (u18 this season) that I didn't bother to even train properly on D2 in USA and ended up playing the playoffs for promotion to D1... Divison is really irrelevant, a D3/D4 from Brazil is going to be as strongh as a D1 or even Top League from other Countries.

This might not be a priority for now, but to me it seems like a logical step. As a user looking for a federation to join, that would be pretty handy. And also when you are scouting a federation for an upcoming clash, you may want to quickly get to the their previous clashes to check out how they usually play. In the future there will be even more of a need for it, since I am expecting that we will add other types of contests (maybe tournaments) where you will face other federations through clashes. So we will need a page where we assemble all the clashes a federation has played (and will play) similar to fixtures and results.

We’re on our third clash now and this feature has a lot of potential. One suggestion; on the challenge page it would be great if there was more intel on the teams. Eg. Country, league, league position and maybe the last 5 games form (format you see on the club presentation page). There seems to be some cache issues that swaps the results in some cases but that is only a visual bug. The correct result is always recorded in the DB. Good suggestions You can play with your 16 teams the next matchup once they have joined the federaion. As long as you have the 16 teams in the "first team" before the deadline they will be part of the next clash. Good idea! It is correct that you should only lose 3 games on w.o. if you were 13 teams and they 16. Because it is not double headers. You only meet a team ones (even though you can challenge the team twice if you want)

You can play with your 16 teams the next matchup once they have joined the federaion. As long as you have the 16 teams in the "first team" before the deadline they will be part of the next clash.

Maybe I misunderstood this question. If your federation is not in the fedearations league playing clashes already, it will not be added to the league. We will however have reset of the beta league sometime in the mid-late August. So if you have at least 8 fiirst team memebers by then, you will be added to the league.

(Hockey - federation n°65) As a key team i played against two team for the clash. I won the first one, i made a draw against the seconde team. I don't know why i can't use my seconde challenge against the seconde team ? The button "challenge" is only available against the first team but as i was a lucky win i don't want to erase that victory...(Hockey - federation n°65)

As a key member you are allowed [b]one[/b] additional challenge against any opponent. That means that if you challenge team 1 than that will be your "main challenge" and you will be able to challenge that team one additional time if you want. However, if you challenge team 1 first and then challenge team 2, you will not be able to challenge team 2 an additonal time, since you cahllenged team 1 first. A good idea might be to wait until everyone has played their matches before you use your key memeber challenge, since you can override any challenge with those challenges. Meaning that if one of your team mates loses a challenge against an opponent, you will be able to challenge that opponent if you are a key member. So tactical decisions can prove very important.
