Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Robin van Aalderen started the match with the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniël Middeljans in the 4th minute of play forced Heythuysen's goalkeeper Lex van der Werff to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 10th match minute, Heythuysen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cor Sandstra to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Heythuysen's zone, Carlo Dagelet stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lex van der Werff came out of the goal and Carlo Dagelet tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 15 minutes into the match, Heythuysen's goal looked a bit too open when Ronald Bult came free, but Lex van der Werff reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Johannes Holt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robin van Aalderen in the 16th minute of play. 17 minutes into the match, Ronald Bult had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lex van der Werff. Heythuysen's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ronald Bult was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 24th minute Carlo Dagelet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lex van der Werff saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronald Bult in the 25th minute of play forced Heythuysen's goalkeeper Lex van der Werff to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Heythuysen's Lex van der Werff played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronald Bult in the 29th minute of play. In the 36th minute, Maikel de Vogt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Elco Hertog fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Heythuysen's protests and gave Elco Hertog a yellow card for diving instead. Elco Hertog hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Ronald Bult recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 45th minute, Daniël Middeljans had to leave the field with a concussion. Domwier Excelsior made a substitution. Christijan Hebert replaced Daniël Middeljans. Ronald Bult recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ronald Bult was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes had been played when some careless play by Heythuysen's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Carlo Dagelet was slow to take the kick. During this time Domwier Excelsior's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Carlo Dagelet almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Heythuysen's Lex van der Werff did a great save. When Martien Bronkhorst fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Domwier Excelsior's protests and gave Martien Bronkhorst a yellow card for diving instead. Martien Bronkhorst hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Johannes Holt didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Otto Stroeve went, in the 58th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. The crowd rose to their feet as Ronald Bult kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Lex van der Werff. That made the score 1-2 in the 63 minute of play. With a little luck, Heythuysen's Lex van der Werff got control of the ball when Christijan Hebert tried to sneak it across the goal line. Lex van der Werff made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronald Bult in the 69th minute of play. Johannes Holt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robin van Aalderen, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Johannes Holt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Steven Waard in the 76th minute of the match. 77 minutes into the match, Domwier Excelsior's goal looked a bit too open when Otto Stroeve came free, but Johannes Holt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 78 minutes into the game, Robin van Aalderen cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Johannes Holt was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 89 minutes of play, Heythuysen's Elco Hertog made it 4-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Johannes Holt was left in no man's land by his defense there! Domwier Excelsior's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Heythuysen had won, even though Domwier Excelsior had held more of the ball.
