PSV Eindhoven's Alwin Baatenburg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronald Bult in the 8th minute of play. Alwin Baatenburg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniël Middeljans in the 9th minute. In the 10th minute, Daniël Middeljans made a precise shot to the right of Alwin Baatenburg. PSV Eindhoven's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. 17 minutes into the match, Pascal Lambers dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Alwin Baatenburg, 2-0. Johannes Holt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Theo Tevreden, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Domwier Excelsior's Pascal Lambers got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Daniël Middeljans received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. In the 44th minute Ronald Bult shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alwin Baatenburg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Robbie van der Schaaf hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. If Daniël Middeljans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. After 57 minutes of play, Domwier Excelsior's Ronald Bult made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alwin Baatenburg was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Pascal Lambers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Alwin Baatenburg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronald Bult, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. 93 minutes into the match, PSV Eindhoven's goal looked a bit too open when Ronald Bult came free, but Alwin Baatenburg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Domwier Excelsior fully deserved thier win.
