Spectators: 7256 (Terracing: 5443, Seating: 1669, VIP seats: 144) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Fernandinho Carioca got the match started through his kick off. Fernandinho Carioca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mazinho Alves having to interfere. In the 7th minute the ball was on its way in behind Queixo Juniors's goalkeeper Alfredinho Bezerra, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. CGMS FC's Dário da Mata got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Queixo Juniors getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Sandrinho Souza hit a great ball. In the 11th minute, Dário da Mata made a precise shot to the right of Alfredinho Bezerra. Queixo Juniors's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Nando Almeida received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Alfredinho Bezerra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 16 minutes into the game, Luiz Fabiano Dracena was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Queixo Juniors's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave CGMS FC the free kick. After 16 played minutes Queixo Juniors got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Fabiano Dracena. Caco Martins sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 18th match minute, Queixo Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luiz Fabiano Dracena to maneuver through the defense. Alfredinho Bezerra didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dário da Mata went, in the 22nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Dário da Mata blasted a shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alfredinho Bezerra having to make a save. In the 28th minute Caco Martins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfredinho Bezerra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mazinho Alves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fernandinho Carioca in the 30th minute of play. In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Queixo Juniors's goalkeeper Alfredinho Bezerra, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, CGMS FC's Nando Almeida got a free kick in the 45th minute. In the 47th minute, Dário da Mata got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Queixo Juniors players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. CGMS FC were winning 0-2.

The supporters of Queixo Juniors booed when CGMS FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Laerte Sá didn't get a good kick on the ball. 55 minutes into the match, Queixo Juniors's Róbson Abraão broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Fernandinho Carioca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Queixo Juniors's zone, Caco Martins stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alfredinho Bezerra came out of the goal and Caco Martins tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of CGMS FC booed when Queixo Juniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Fabiano Dracena didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alfredinho Bezerra made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Dário da Mata sent off a good shot on target. Alfredinho Bezerra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Caco Martins, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. José Paulo Lopes helped the player get up and apologised. Evandro da Fonseca recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mazinho Alves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernandinho Carioca, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. CGMS FC played a much better game than Queixo Juniors and deserved their victory. The Queixo Juniors players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
