With a little luck, JôVentus FC's Lorenzo Oxel got control of the ball when Dário da Mata tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cleiton Rezende could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Lorenzo Oxel made a huge save. 13 minutes into the match, Victorino Espiridion had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mazinho Alves. CGMS FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Victorino Espiridion was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Lorenzo Oxel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caco Martins in the 20th minute of play. Mazinho Alves stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Iuri Paiva's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. Caco Martins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Lorenzo Oxel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dário da Mata could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Lorenzo Oxel made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dário da Mata got free with Lorenzo Oxel in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Dário da Mata came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the CGMS FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dário da Mata couldn't finish the play. Dário da Mata could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Lorenzo Oxel made a huge save. CGMS FC's Caco Martins got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pedro Augusto Marquez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
