Pedro Augusto Machado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roger da Cunha having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Carvalho's Gabriel de Brito got a free kick in the 17th minute. After 21 minutes, Kauan Mota mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Carvalho and the Cordilheiras players grew even worse after the yellow card. Carvalho:s Roger da Cunha showed great skill when he stopped Oscar Berger:s penalty. After some careless play in the Carvalho defense, Oscar Berger kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Roger da Cunha. The Carvalho fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Roger da Cunha should have stopped the shot. Carvalho's Roger da Cunha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedro Augusto Machado in the 26th minute of play. Pedro Augusto Machado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roger da Cunha having to interfere. In the 30th minute, Oswaldo Valle got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. David Ceresso came out of the goal and Antônio Carlos Valladares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Oswaldo Valle took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Roger da Cunha. Roger da Cunha dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pedro Augusto Machado was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Oswaldo Valle managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cordilheiras's supporters rose to their feet, but Oswaldo Valle was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roger da Cunha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 60 minutes into the match, Carvalho's goal looked a bit too open when Oswaldo Valle came free, but Roger da Cunha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
