David Ceresso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Emanuel Vale's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. 24 minutes into the game, Legião AlSufid's Valdomiro Brito nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. David Ceresso made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Oswaldo Valle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Júlio Berger having to interfere. David Ceresso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emanuel Vale, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. David Ceresso came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Legião AlSufid's Emanuel Vale. But to his dismay, Emanuel Vale quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Dudu Alvarenga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Júlio Berger having to interfere. In the 45th minute, Emanuel Vale got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

Agnaldo Trigo was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 52 minutes into the match. The supporters of Legião AlSufid booed when Cordilheiras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agnaldo Trigo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 62 minutes into the game, Cordilheiras's Dudu Alvarenga nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cordilheiras's supporters rose to their feet, but Dudu Alvarenga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. An unexpected shot in the 78th minute by Emanuel Vale got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Valdomiro Brito struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. David Ceresso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Legião AlSufid. Dudu Alvarenga scored 2-3 in the 81st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Júlio Berger, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 88th minute, Valdomiro Brito had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. When Dudu Alvarenga fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cordilheiras's protests and gave Dudu Alvarenga a yellow card for diving instead. Legião AlSufid's Oswaldo Arruda was substituted for Valdomiro Brito. Dudu Alvarenga kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. 92 minutes into the match, Cordilheiras's goal looked a bit too open when Rômulo Tinoco came free, but David Ceresso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 96th minute Rômulo Tinoco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Ceresso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Legião AlSufid had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
