Tião Novaes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oswaldo Valle in the 26th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Dudu Alvarenga kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Tião Novaes. That made the score 1-1 in the 28 minute of play. In the 48th minute, Cordilheiras's Dudu Alvarenga ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Tião Novaes. Tião Novaes yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kauan das Neves to strike the kick off in the second half. David Ceresso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Inácio Vieira, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Dudu Alvarenga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cordilheiras's supporters rose to their feet, but Dudu Alvarenga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tião Novaes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 75th minute, Oswaldo Valle got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
