The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, José Vítor Bezerra notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of True Hawks's Ezequiel Toledo. Ezequiel Toledo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 5th minute, Bruno Maranhense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ezequiel Toledo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Vítor Bezerra in the 13th minute of play. Luiz Fernando Recife came free with the goalkeeper in the 16th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Valdir Arce could save by the left post. In the 17th minute, Marcos Lago fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Luiz Fernando Recife fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdir Arce having to interfere. After having played for 20 minutes, Marcos Lago managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. True Hawks's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcos Lago was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Marcos Lago had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ezequiel Toledo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thomás Brodel in the 26th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Quintino FC's Thomás Brodel got a free kick in the 32nd minute. If Marcos Lago had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luiz Fernando Recife scored 2-1 in the 38th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Valdir Arce, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ezequiel Toledo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thomás Brodel in the 47th minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marcos Lago stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Laerte Donato during the 51st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Laerte Donato hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Valdir Arce stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marcos Lago's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. When Marcos Lago came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the True Hawks fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcos Lago couldn't finish the play. Ezequiel Toledo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Vítor Bezerra in the 58th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in True Hawks's zone, Thomás Brodel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ezequiel Toledo came out of the goal and Thomás Brodel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Aloísio Campidelis hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Ezequiel Toledo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Vítor Bezerra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luiz Fernando Recife received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Valdir Arce tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Vítor Bezerra in the 75th minute of play forced True Hawks's goalkeeper Ezequiel Toledo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 83 minutes, Luiz Fernando Recife managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. When José Vítor Bezerra came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Quintino FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Vítor Bezerra couldn't finish the play. Valdir Arce showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcos Lago, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the Quintino FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for True Hawks.
