Faustão Abreu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nico Vieira in the 23rd minute. Valdir Arce showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Willian de Godoy, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Willian de Godoy in the 35th minute of play forced Quintino FC's goalkeeper Valdir Arce to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Time do Povo were winning 1-3.

After 55 played minutes Time do Povo got a freekick which was hit by Alexandre Queiroz. 57 minutes into the match, Time do Povo's goal looked a bit too open when Valdemar Capixaba came free, but Faustão Abreu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Quintino FC's José Carlos de Mendonça got a free kick in the 62nd minute. After having played for 64 minutes, Willian de Godoy managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Time do Povo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Willian de Godoy was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
