Spectators: 7188 (Terracing: 5393, Seating: 1653, VIP seats: 142) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Hélio Seco kicked off to start the match. Rodolfo Romero came out of the goal in the 5th minute to try and stop a shot by Igreja Batista Adonai's Hélio Seco. But to his dismay, Hélio Seco quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. José Donatello received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Naldo Ferreira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Patrick Soeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hélio Seco in the 13th minute of play forced Catole's goalkeeper Rodolfo Romero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rodolfo Romero didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Patrick Soeiro went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. After a defensive mix-up in Catole's zone, Patrick Soeiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rodolfo Romero came out of the goal and Patrick Soeiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Durvalino Quadros fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Catole's protests and gave Durvalino Quadros a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Igreja Batista Adonai booed when Catole was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Durvalino Quadros didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 30 minutes, Eusébio Baiano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Catole's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eusébio Baiano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Eusébio Baiano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Catole's supporters rose to their feet, but Eusébio Baiano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Naldo Ferreira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Catole's Rodolfo Romero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patrick Soeiro in the 39th minute of play. If Eusébio Baiano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mauro Vander's late challenge caught a Catole's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mauro Vander helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Igreja Batista Adonai getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Mauro Vander hit a great ball. José Donatello's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Naldo Ferreira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell José Donatello to make the kick off. Dedé Correia kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, José Donatello managed to get in a good position for a shot. Catole's supporters rose to their feet, but José Donatello was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Naldo Ferreira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Catole's Rodolfo Romero proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Catole from getting a goal against them. Hélio Seco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eusébio Baiano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Naldo Ferreira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Donatello in the 68th minute of play. If Patrick Soeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 79th minute, Miguel da Mata hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Catole's Rodolfo Romero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hélio Seco in the 87th minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Igreja Batista Adonai walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
