Roberto da Rocha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Mundial EC's Lauro Trigo got a free kick in the 29th minute. Umberto Camargo charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Umberto Camargo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to SAS getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Umberto Camargo hit a great ball. Elias Vieira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gustavo Monteiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Elias Vieira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredão Toledo, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alfredão Toledo was the one to do the kick off. Daniel Bezerra kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. With a little luck, SAS's Elias Vieira got control of the ball when Alfredão Toledo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mundial EC's Ruy Arce played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erik Leite in the 60th minute of play. Elias Vieira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfredão Toledo in the 63rd minute of play. 64 minutes into the match, SAS's goal looked a bit too open when Gustavo Monteiro came free, but Elias Vieira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vicente Falcão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elias Vieira having to interfere. Joel Macedo kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. When Mauro Senna came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Mundial EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mauro Senna couldn't finish the play. 72 minutes into the game, Vicente Falcão recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Elias Vieira. Vicente Falcão showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. Elias Vieira made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Alfredão Toledo sent off a good shot on target. 84 minutes into the game, Gustavo Monteiro recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Elias Vieira. Gustavo Monteiro showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-3. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 88th minute of the game. One of SAS:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Mundial EC:s goal. The referee gave Mundial EC a penalty, 90 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Mauro Senna, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of SAS's Elias Vieira. 0-4. In the 94th minute, Mundial EC's Alfredão Toledo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Elias Vieira. Elias Vieira yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-5. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Mundial EC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
