Fausto Ferraz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Don Duarte, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. In the 28th minute Alexandrino Severiano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fausto Ferraz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 29th minute Marcel Abreu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but King Duarte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fausto Ferraz came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by CASTROMIL FC -Golden Land's Don Duarte. But to his dismay, Don Duarte quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. When Luizão Prata fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's protests and gave Luizão Prata a yellow card for diving instead. Luizão Prata kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. After 36 played minutes CASTROMIL FC -Golden Land got a freekick which was hit by Rodolfo Caldas. After recieving a nice pass, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Dagoberto Esteves tried to score from far away in the 36th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Pascoal Alvarenga hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Don Duarte made the kick off in the second half. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Fausto Ferraz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save S.E.R. Caxias do Sul from getting a goal against them. Fausto Ferraz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Don Duarte in the 53rd minute of play. In the 55th minute of the match CASTROMIL FC -Golden Land got a corner. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Pascoal Alvarenga ran over to the corner to take the kick. Rei Duarte's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 56thth minute, Fausto Ferraz skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Caxias do Sul's Fausto Ferraz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Don Duarte in the 68th minute of play. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Rui da Costa got a free kick in the 87th minute. 93 minutes into the match, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's goal looked a bit too open when Don Duarte came free, but Fausto Ferraz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fausto Ferraz was a little too slow when Alexandrino Severiano got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 94th minute. The score was now 1-3. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. CASTROMIL FC -Golden Land had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
