Fausto Ferraz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 24th minute, Luizão Prata hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Los Colonos F.C - FSCMZ's Osmar Castro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Los Colonos F.C - FSCMZ from getting a goal against them. After 30 played minutes Los Colonos F.C - FSCMZ got a freekick which was hit by André da Fonseca. Sidney Abraão hit a great ball. After the first half Los Colonos F.C - FSCMZ were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Marcel Abreu made the kick off in the second half. Osmar Castro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcel Abreu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Marcel Abreu got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 64 minutes into the match, Los Colonos F.C - FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Rui da Costa came free, but Osmar Castro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 66th minute, Marcel Abreu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The S.E.R. Caxias do Sul fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Caxias do Sul's Dagoberto Esteves shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 3-2 in the ordered_time% minute. Osmar Castro came out of the goal in the 85th minute to try and stop a shot by S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Kauã Vander. But to his dismay, Kauã Vander quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcel Abreu in the 91st minute of play forced Los Colonos F.C - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Osmar Castro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Reinaldo Xavier kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
