Barcellos Mineiro FC's Mateus Paraense suffered a fractured collar bone after 7 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Rudi Boegaert fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lions United's protests and gave Rudi Boegaert a yellow card for diving instead. In the 6th minute, one of Lions United:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Lions United. If Andrézinho Messias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Mathieu-Maxim Claessens came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Lions United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mathieu-Maxim Claessens couldn't finish the play. Barcellos Mineiro FC's Didi Dionísio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mathieu-Maxim Claessens in the 19th minute of play. Robbrecht Valcke charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Robbrecht Valcke the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Barcellos Mineiro FC booed when Lions United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Robbrecht Valcke didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 23 minutes of play, Barcellos Mineiro FC's Eriberto Vidal made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gillis Heirremans was left in no man's land by his defense there! Andrézinho Messias struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Gillis Heirremans didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Barcellos Mineiro FC. Mathieu-Maxim Claessens recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 28th match minute, Lions United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Robbrecht Valcke to maneuver through the defense. Lions United were awarded a corner in the 35th minute after Barcellos Mineiro FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Robbrecht Valcke took the corner. Lions United's Robbrecht Valcke was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Didi Dionísio in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Barcellos Mineiro FC's Eriberto Vidal suffered a concussion in the 44th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. Robbrecht Valcke hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Marcelo Diniz to strike the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Luiz Guilherme Matorin notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Lions United's Gillis Heirremans. Gillis Heirremans was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 61st minute of the match Eriberto de Queiroz sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gillis Heirremans skillfully saved the ball. After 62 minutes of play, Barcellos Mineiro FC's Luiz Guilherme Matorin made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gillis Heirremans was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gillis Heirremans showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andrézinho Messias in the 65th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 69 minutes, Marcelo Diniz put it in 6-0 from a short distance just to the right of Gillis Heirremans. The supporters of Lions United booed when Barcellos Mineiro FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andrézinho Messias didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Lions United's Dries Coremans got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Marcelo Diniz might have been able to make a better finish in the 76th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gillis Heirremans. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marcelo Diniz ran back to his position shaking his head. Didi Dionísio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dries Coremans, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Barcellos Mineiro FC booed when Lions United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rudi Boegaert didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gillis Heirremans made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelo Diniz in the 94th minute of play. Barcellos Mineiro FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Lions United for a fine match.
