Saul Nesto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ueli Gantenbein, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Volker Unger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 35th minute Tudor Caragea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Saul Nesto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. FC Werdenberg's Manuel Lajoie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fulgencio Padro in the 36th minute of play. FC Werdenberg's attentive Bennett Pellandini managed to snatch the ball when Ceferino Handi made a throw-in in the 38th minute of the game. Saul Nesto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tudor Caragea in the 39th minute of the match. When Helder Rodrigues fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Werdenberg's protests and gave Helder Rodrigues a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Gep FC booed when FC Werdenberg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Helder Rodrigues didn't get a good kick on the ball. Manuel Lajoie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Timoteo Orlin in the 45th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Gep FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Simon Gunnarsson ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Simon Gunnarsson almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Gep FC's Saul Nesto did a great save. After a rather tough play, FC Werdenberg's Volker Unger got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Edmundo Fontão could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 93rd minute of the match, but Manuel Lajoie made a huge save. There was no doubt that FC Werdenberg were the better team. FC Werdenberg's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
