The attack was good, but when Žydrūnas Pauža in the 10th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Tudor Caragea kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Tayfun Tanfer. That made the score 1-0 in the 12 minute of play. The audience was convinced that Žydrūnas Pauža's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Manuel Lajoie was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. In the 16th minute Patrik Pilberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manuel Lajoie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Manuel Lajoie didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for MarineerS FK. Tekin Batırhan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manuel Lajoie having to interfere. 40 minutes into the match, MarineerS FK's Erik Haaland sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Manuel Lajoie narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Tayfun Tanfer made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ueli Gantenbein in the 41st minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mehmet Emrah Dolunay in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Manuel Lajoie saved FC Werdenberg from getting behind. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tudor Caragea made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, FC Werdenberg's goal looked a bit too open when Žydrūnas Pauža came free, but Manuel Lajoie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tudor Caragea in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tayfun Tanfer prevented the ball from getting in the gole. It was a well-played corner which Gökmen Uzkan managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Manuel Lajoie showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Žydrūnas Pauža, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Manuel Lajoie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Žydrūnas Pauža in the 74th minute of play. The supporters of FC Werdenberg booed when MarineerS FK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ilias Tsembelis didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. MarineerS FK had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
