The referee ignored Farmácia Cristo Rei's protests and gave Doni Pereira a yellow card for diving instead. Doni Pereira hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Tony Proença took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Doni Pereira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tony Proença showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hermínio Oliveira in the 14th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Farmácia Cristo Rei's Hermínio Oliveira slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Tony Proença. That made the score 2-0 after 19 minutes of play. If Tata Tatu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edson Nunes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Tony Proença tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Matura AD's Romário Coutinho got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tony Proença showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hermínio Oliveira, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. 32 minutes into the match, Farmácia Cristo Rei's goal looked a bit too open when Edgar Quadros came free, but Laurentius Giguère reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Matura AD's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Fábio Ribeiro in the 34th minute. The corner ended in Fábio Ribeiro almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Farmácia Cristo Rei's Laurentius Giguère did a great save. The Matura AD fans' excitement grew in the 36th match minute when Matura AD's Romário Coutinho looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind Matura AD's goalkeeper Tony Proença, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Edgar Quadros's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Laurentius Giguère read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

After a rather tough play, Farmácia Cristo Rei's Alessandro Paiva got a free kick in the 55th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Fábio Ribeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Matura AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Fábio Ribeiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Laurentius Giguère breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 60th minute, Aleandro Esteves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Doni Pereira kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. After 63 played minutes Matura AD got a freekick which was hit by Antônio Carlos Paranaense. After 65 played minutes Matura AD got a freekick which was hit by Rodolfo Mangueira. When Matura AD's Sandro de Carvalho in the 69th minute got a chance for a shot 69th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Farmácia Cristo Rei's goalie prevented a goal. After a rather tough play, Farmácia Cristo Rei's Aleandro Esteves got a free kick in the 69th minute. Laurentius Giguère acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 70th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Fábio Ribeiro. When Farmácia Cristo Rei's Edson Nunes in the 72nd minute got a chance for a shot 72nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Matura AD's goalie prevented a goal. In the 75th minute Hermínio Oliveira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tony Proença saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Farmácia Cristo Rei were furious when José Paulo Nascimento was red carded, 82 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. A collision led to Farmácia Cristo Rei getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. José Paulo Nascimento hit a great ball. A hard shot by Fábio Ribeiro from long distance, 84 minutes into the match, got Laurentius Giguère's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Romário Coutinho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Matura AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Romário Coutinho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Laurentius Giguère breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tata Tatu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute.
