Matura AD's Romário Coutinho got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Galáticos Paulista S.C.'s Percy Paes got a free kick in the 17th minute. Galáticos Paulista S.C.'s Diego Zanette proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Galáticos Paulista S.C. from getting a goal against them. Erivaldo Ceresso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 31 minutes into the match, Galáticos Paulista S.C.'s goalkeeper Diego Zanette had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Romário Coutinho. Eurico Meirelles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tony Proença having to interfere. Diego Zanette showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sandro de Carvalho, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. When Romário Coutinho came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Matura AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Romário Coutinho couldn't finish the play. In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind Galáticos Paulista S.C.'s goalkeeper Diego Zanette, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Sandro de Carvalhos short, quick shot in the 45thth minute got Diego Zanette to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Erivaldo Ceresso made the kick off in the second half. Edgar Quadros might have been able to make a better finish in the 51st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Diego Zanette. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edgar Quadros ran back to his position shaking his head. If Romário Coutinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Antônio Carlos Paranaense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Diego Zanette tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Matura AD's Sandro de Carvalho in the 60th minute got a chance for a shot 60th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 77th minute, Sandro de Carvalho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sandro de Carvalho in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Diego Zanette prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Romário Coutinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 83 played minutes Galáticos Paulista S.C. got a freekick which was hit by Percy Paes. When Erivaldo Ceresso fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Galáticos Paulista S.C.'s protests and gave Erivaldo Ceresso a yellow card for diving instead. The audience was convinced that Sandro de Carvalho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Diego Zanette was relentless in the 89th minute of the game. Sandro de Carvalho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Diego Zanette having to make a save.
