Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Caiapo's Almir Senna started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Almir Senna blasted a shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Anísio Paranaense having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diguinho Proença in the 8th minute of play forced Biguassu EC's goalkeeper Anísio Paranaense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 9th minute Caiapo were awarded a corner. Túlio Bertassi went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Túlio Bertassi got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Anísio Paranaense quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. When Almir Senna came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Caiapo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Almir Senna couldn't finish the play. Almir Senna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anísio Paranaense having to interfere. If Gernando de Queiroz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Diguinho Proença hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. 26 minutes into the match, Anderson Meireles sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Amílton Schmidt threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Anderson Meireles this time. The long shot by Wellington do Nascimento in the 32nd minute really tested Amílton Schmidt's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Alfredinho Paranaense kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Caiapo's Almir Senna got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Amílton Schmidt was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Leonardo Alvarenga. Caiapo's Bernardo Penha got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Geovânio Saraiva stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Bernardo Penha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anísio Paranaense having to interfere. In the 55th minute, Túlio Bertassi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Almir Senna in the 58thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Anísio Paranaense, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Almir Senna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Anísio Paranaense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Almir Senna managed to get in a good position for a shot. Caiapo's supporters rose to their feet, but Almir Senna was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anísio Paranaense breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Caiapo's Bernardinho Soeiro got a free kick in the 68th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Caiapo's zone, Geovânio Saraiva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amílton Schmidt came out of the goal and Geovânio Saraiva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 75th minute, Leonardo Alvarenga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 78 minutes into the game, Leonardo Alvarenga threw the ball into play from the sideline. Caiapo's Luiz Gustavo Meireles quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Almir Senna recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 83rd match minute, Caiapo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernardo Penha to maneuver through the defense. Alfredinho Paranaense kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. If Bernardo Penha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 95th minute Geovânio Saraiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amílton Schmidt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 96th minute of the match Leonardo Alvarenga sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Amílton Schmidt skillfully saved the ball. Caiapo were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
