Ulysses Sabóia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo Renato Freire in the 14th minute of play. Ulysses Sabóia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reynaldo Félix, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Dário Arce, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 21 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Joaquim Paiva was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lucas Castro to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Emerson Tróia managed to get in a good position for a shot. Salgueirón FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Emerson Tróia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joaquim Paiva breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ulysses Sabóia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reynaldo Félix in the 54th minute of play. In the 57th minute, Paulo Renato Freire got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Henrique Breckenfeld fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored 100 CHANCE's protests and gave Henrique Breckenfeld a yellow card for diving instead. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
