Luiz Paulo Ramos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 17 played minutes Maktub got a freekick which was hit by Baltazar Reis. In the 19th minute, Baltazar Reis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Antônio Carlos Pombal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Claudinho Trigo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Frédson Lopez hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Antônio Carlos Pombal could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Claudinho Trigo made a huge save. José Paulo Peres's late challenge caught a Tucunupi FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. José Paulo Peres helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Maktub's José Paulo Peres got a free kick in the 39th minute. In the 41st minute of the match, Luiz Paulo Ramos tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Claudinho Trigo saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Silas Barral to make the kick off. When Dadá Urbano fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Maktub's protests and gave Dadá Urbano a yellow card for diving instead. After some careless play in the Tucunupi FC defense, Silas Barral kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Célio Lago. The Tucunupi FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Célio Lago should have stopped the shot. Luiz Paulo Ramos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudinho Trigo having to interfere. José Paulo Peres hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. After 81 played minutes, Tucunupi FC's Pedro Luís Furtado shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Claudinho Trigo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Tucunupi FC reached it. After a rather tough play, Maktub's José Paulo Peres got a free kick in the 84th minute. In the 87th minute Luiz Paulo Ramos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Claudinho Trigo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Tucunupi FC's Célio Lago got control of the ball when Frédson Lopez tried to sneak it across the goal line. The Maktub players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
