Tucunupi FC's Luiz Paulo Ramos got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 4 played minutes Maktub got a freekick which was hit by Paulo Renato Abraão. Frédson Lopez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Célio Lago made a huge save. After 8 played minutes Tucunupi FC got a freekick which was hit by Júnior Furlan. If Silas Barral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Maktub's Claudinho Trigo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Paulo Ramos in the 11th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pedro Luís Furtado during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 18th minute, Pedro Luís Furtado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 19th minute, Tucunupi FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Arlindo Lago fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Arlindo Lago kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. José Paulo Peres fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Célio Lago having to interfere. Silas Barral was extremely unlucky when he, in the 25th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Dadá Urbano's late challenge caught a Tucunupi FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dadá Urbano helped the player get up and apologised. After 29 played minutes Maktub got a freekick which was hit by Paulo Renato Abraão. If Silas Barral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Maktub booed when Tucunupi FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Júnior Furlan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Célio Lago showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Silas Barral, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Silas Barral's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Célio Lago read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. José Paulo Peres recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Silas Barral to make the kick off. When Luiz Paulo Ramos came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Tucunupi FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luiz Paulo Ramos couldn't finish the play. Júnior Furlan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudinho Trigo having to interfere. Silas Barral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Célio Lago tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Maktub's Silas Barral got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 72 minutes, José Paulo Peres managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maktub's supporters crossed their fingers, but José Paulo Peres was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Célio Lago made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silas Barral in the 74th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 77 minutes, Claudinho Trigo successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Célio Lago showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Silas Barral in the 82nd minute of the match. After 84 played minutes, Maktub's Arlindo Lago shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Célio Lago came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Maktub reached it. Claudinho Trigo made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Antônio Carlos Pombal sent off a good shot on target. Luiz Paulo Ramos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudinho Trigo having to interfere. Luiz Paulo Ramos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Claudinho Trigo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Antônio Carlos Pombal blasted a shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Claudinho Trigo having to make a save. Dadá Urbano kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
