The crowd rose to their feet as Hortêncio Eger kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Christian Proença. That made the score 1-0 in the 17 minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hortêncio Eger got free with Christian Proença in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Hortêncio Eger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Garca AD's defense didn't have a chance, in the 29th minute, when Agnaldo Hermes scored to the left of an out of position Christian Proença, making the score, 2-0. A collision led to Garca AD getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Dino Chaves hit a great ball. After 56 played minutes, Riograndense FC's Tarcisio Britto shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Christian Proença came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Riograndense FC reached it. Agnaldo Hermes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Christian Proença read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. Wiliam Borges sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
