Spectators: 6926 (Terracing: 5426, Seating: 1500, VIP seats: 0) Valinhos FC's Joaquim Cosme started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Glauco Valladares left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pinto fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Thiago Xavier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valdemar Vargas in the 6th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Glauco Valladares managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pinto's supporters rose to their feet, but Glauco Valladares was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thiago Xavier breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 16 minutes into the match, Glauco Valladares had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Thiago Xavier. Valinhos FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Glauco Valladares was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Joaquim Cosme recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Valinhos FC's Thiago Xavier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Afonsinho Soeiro in the 23rd minute of play. 27 minutes into the match, Valinhos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Valdemar Vargas came free, but Thiago Xavier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Valdemar Vargas took the ball and in the 33 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Thiago Xavier. Thiago Xavier dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Joaquim Cosme in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Duarte Saraiva prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Pinto's Osmar Simões got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Gilvan Nascimento's late challenge caught a Valinhos FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gilvan Nascimento helped the player get up and apologised. In the 47th match minute, Pinto was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilvan Nascimento to maneuver through the defense.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Afonsinho Soeiro made a kick off. With a little luck, Valinhos FC's Thiago Xavier got control of the ball when Roger Paraense tried to sneak it across the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Afonsinho Soeiro in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Thiago Xavier saved Valinhos FC from getting behind. The crowd rose to their feet as Pinto's Valdemar Vargas slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Thiago Xavier. That made the score 0-4 after 59 minutes of play. Thiago Xavier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Afonsinho Soeiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. In a very dangerous position, a player in Pinto fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 63rd minute. Penalty! The referee gave Valinhos FC a penalty, 66 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Doni Severo, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Pinto's Duarte Saraiva. 1-4. Thiago Xavier made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Roger Paraense sent off a good shot on target. After 72 minutes, Doni Severo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Valinhos FC and the Pinto players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Valinhos FC's Doni Severo got a free kick in the 72nd minute. 81 minutes had been played when some careless play by Pinto's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Doni Severo was slow to take the kick. During this time Valinhos FC's players had a chance to rest. The supporters of Valinhos FC booed when Pinto was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Glauco Valladares didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Joaquim Cosme's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Duarte Saraiva was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. In the 89th minute, Tiaguinho Matos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Joaquim Cosme received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Duarte Saraiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Joaquim Cosme had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Valinhos FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Pinto's performance. The match ended with a win for Pinto.
