The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 7 minutes into the game, Michel Massa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. PAIA's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Aruak S.C. the free kick. In the 7th minute, Michel Massa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Aruak S.C.'s zone, Alfredão Munhoz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edu Medeiros came out of the goal and Alfredão Munhoz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Aruak S.C. getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Mazinho Albuquerque hit a great ball. Alan Pereira's late challenge caught a Aruak S.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alan Pereira helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Aruak S.C. booed when PAIA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alan Pereira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Reynaldo Gerber fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulão Bezerra having to interfere. In the 44th minute Horácio de Lara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulão Bezerra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Jorginho de Andrade came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Aruak S.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jorginho de Andrade couldn't finish the play. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Alfredão Munhoz made the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes Aruak S.C. got a freekick which was hit by Mazinho Albuquerque. A hard shot 53 in the game by Alfredão Munhoz from a close distance when the talented Edu Medeiros managed to make a qualified save. Aruak S.C.'s players were relieved. Reynaldo Gerber kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alan Pereira in the 55th minute of play forced Aruak S.C.'s goalkeeper Edu Medeiros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jaime de Moraes kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. The referee showed Alfredão Munhoz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Aruak S.C. booed when PAIA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfredão Munhoz didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 91 played minutes PAIA got a freekick which was hit by Michel Massa. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Raúl Moura during the 96th minute.
