The audience thought a goal was coming when Melquiades Henric got free with Cipriano Cordarin in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cipriano Cordarin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Armando Larra, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. After 10 played minutes Vieja Huinco FC got a freekick which was hit by Aristides Incendio. Melquiades Henric sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marcos Mero recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Serafin Gustau made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcos Mero in the 27th minute of play. If Genaro Iraunkor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcos Mero struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Serafin Gustau didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vieja Huinco FC. Cipriano Cordarin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armando Larra in the 48th minute of the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Armando Larra was the one to do the kick off. Armando Larra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cipriano Cordarin having to interfere. 53 minutes into the match, Melquiades Henric notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Vieja Huinco FC's Cipriano Cordarin. Cipriano Cordarin was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 58 minutes into the match, Vieja Huinco FC's goal looked a bit too open when Armando Larra came free, but Cipriano Cordarin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Dennehy AFC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Vieja Huinco FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
