Frederik Walde started the match with the kick off. After 4 minutes of play, FC Gerolstein's Karl-Georg Bartels made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marcio Hebel was left in no man's land by his defense there! 8 minutes into the match, FC Esile's goal looked a bit too open when Karl-Georg Bartels came free, but Marcio Hebel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. FC Esile's Marcio Hebel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karl-Georg Bartels in the 15th minute of play. Marcio Hebel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karl-Georg Bartels in the 17th minute of play. 18 minutes into the game, Uwe Bertelmann was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Esile's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Gerolstein the free kick. A collision led to FC Esile getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Uwe Bertelmann hit a great ball. 22 minutes into the match, FC Esile's goal looked a bit too open when Frederik Walde came free, but Marcio Hebel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 24th minute, Frederik Walde hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marcio Hebel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frederik Walde in the 27th minute of the match. Marcio Hebel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Viktor Schneidewind, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frederik Walde in the 31st minute of play forced FC Esile's goalkeeper Marcio Hebel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 32nd match minute, FC Esile was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonard Bobzien to maneuver through the defense. In the 33rd minute, Karl-Georg Bartels ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marcio Hebel was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Frederik Walde took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcio Hebel. Marcio Hebel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. 45 minutes into the match, FC Esile's goal looked a bit too open when Frederik Walde came free, but Marcio Hebel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 45 minutes into the game, Frederik Walde cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Marcio Hebel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-5.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Waldemar Jokerst to strike the kick off in the second half. FC Esile's Marcio Hebel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save FC Esile from getting a goal against them. FC Gerolstein's Frederik Walde got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gerold Joder took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 63rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Marcio Hebel. FC Esile's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 64th minute Frederik Walde shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcio Hebel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 66th minute, Gerold Joder fired a really elegant long shot, but Marcio Hebel threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. Marcio Hebel made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Karl-Georg Bartels sent off a good shot on target. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Karl-Georg Bartels couldn't finish the play. When FC Gerolstein's Frederik Walde in the 87th minute got a chance for a shot 87th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC Esile's goalie prevented a goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Karl-Georg Bartels in the 90th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marcio Hebel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 93 minutes into the match, FC Esile's goalkeeper Marcio Hebel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Karl-Georg Bartels. When the match was over FC Gerolstein could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than FC Esile throughout the match.
