The referee ignored FC Bucuresti's protests and gave Manole Zăhărescu a yellow card for diving instead. With a little luck, FC Național București's Iacob Lupoi got control of the ball when Gigi Doman tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 20th minute, FC Național București's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Gigi Doman fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Marian Miroiu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iacob Lupoi having to interfere. Iacob Lupoi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gigi Doman in the 28th minute. Iacob Lupoi stood somewhat misplaced when Marian Miroiu came free in front of goal and shot 2-0 to the left of him in the 29 minute. In the 31st minute, Manole Zăhărescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 33rd minute, Gigi Doman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marian Miroiu in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Iacob Lupoi saved FC Național București from getting behind. 38 minutes into the match, FC Național București's goal looked a bit too open when Marian Miroiu came free, but Iacob Lupoi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Călin Berechet during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. FC Național București's Iacob Lupoi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marian Miroiu in the 67th minute of play. Iacob Lupoi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marian Miroiu, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Gigi Doman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iacob Lupoi having to interfere. 75 minutes into the match, FC Național București's goal looked a bit too open when Marian Miroiu came free, but Iacob Lupoi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of FC Bucuresti booed when FC Național București was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Panait Boia didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 84th minute of the match Manole Zăhărescu shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Iacob Lupoi showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Iacob Lupoi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marian Miroiu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Iacob Lupoi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marian Miroiu in the 92nd minute of play. Călin Berechet kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. In the 96th minute, Gigi Doman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. FC Bucuresti walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
