Klemensas Labuckas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Sylwester Fujarczuk made a huge save. If Juozas Dagilis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Klemensas Labuckas's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 23rdth minute, Sylwester Fujarczuk skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. vAbAlAy's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Juozas Dagilis 24 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-1. 28 minutes into the game, Vydas Subačius was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Joniskis's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave vAbAlAy the free kick. Tauras Ragaišis took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 29th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Alfonsas Kančelskis. Alfonsas Kančelskis came out of the goal in the 37th minute to try and stop a shot by vAbAlAy's Juozas Vilkas. But to his dismay, Juozas Vilkas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. A collision led to vAbAlAy getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Nedas Ratkus hit a great ball. Sylwester Fujarczuk made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Klemensas Labuckas sent off a good shot on target. Sylwester Fujarczuk didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Klemensas Labuckas went, in the 45th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Juozas Dagilis was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of FC Joniskis booed when vAbAlAy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jotautas Brazas didn't get a good kick on the ball.
