Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Igor Cavaleiro took the kick off in the first half of the match. Enzo Carulli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Téo Passos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, U21 Brazil's Rodrigo Valle got control of the ball when Mauro Icardi tried to sneak it across the goal line. 10 minutes into the match, U21 Italy's goal looked a bit too open when Egídio Barreto came free, but Enzo Carulli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Enzo Carulli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Igor Cavaleiro in the 16th minute of play. In the 22nd minute of the match U21 Italy got a corner. U21 Brazil's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Giuseppe Baresi ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Carlo Iannotti got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Rodrigo Valle quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The crowd rose to their feet as U21 Brazil's Bernardo Meireles slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Enzo Carulli. That made the score 1-2 after 89 minutes of play. Bernardo Meireles's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Enzo Carulli read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 97th minute of play. U21 Brazil's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
