Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) U21 Hungary's Balázs Kulcsár started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Lajos Révész made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rik Hello in the 3rd minute of play. Lajos Révész made an important save on a dangerous shot by Francesco Gaspari in the 10th minute. A collision led to U21 Italy getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Rik Hello hit a great ball. Francesco Gaspari could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Lajos Révész made a huge save. U21 Italy's Alvaro Rotili played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Balázs Kulcsár in the 23rd minute of play. 26 minutes into the match, U21 Hungary's Balázs Kulcsár sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alvaro Rotili narrowly saved just below the crossbar. U21 Hungary's Lajos Révész played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Francesco Gaspari in the 35th minute of play. Alvaro Rotili took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Balázs Kulcsár, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Balázs Kulcsár had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the break the players went out on the field to play the first half of overtime with revived energy in their legs. U21 Hungary's Tibor Berkes started the play with the initial kick off. Lajos Révész showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alvaro Micarelli in the 102nd minute of the match. In the 110th minute Tibor Berkes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alvaro Rotili saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
After 123 played minutes U21 Hungary got a freekick which was hit by Pál Nagy. In the 124th minute the ball was on its way in behind U21 Hungary's goalkeeper Lajos Révész, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 125 minutes, Rajmund Lázár mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the U21 Hungary and the U21 Italy players grew even worse after the yellow card. 127 minutes into the game, Alvaro Micarelli cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Lajos Révész was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The U21 Italy fans cheered their team off the field, for while U21 Hungary had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
