When Astor Petrigai fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Yalapa's protests and gave Astor Petrigai a yellow card for diving instead. After 2 played minutes Yalapa got a freekick which was hit by Astor Petrigai. In the 6th minute Astor Petrigai shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leopoldo Abarca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Raul Cristofol could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Everardo Sal made a huge save. Club Atletico Fenix's Leopoldo Abarca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Inocencio Sidoro in the 9th minute of play. Justo Abecia, 16 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Angel Hanni could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Everardo Sal made a huge save. In the 22nd minute, Abelardo Pagomari ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Everardo Sal was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Leopoldo Abarca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Inocencio Sidoro in the 26th minute of the match. Leopoldo Abarca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Astor Petrigai, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cecilio Seber hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. 34 minutes into the match, Club Atletico Fenix's goal looked a bit too open when Inocencio Sidoro came free, but Leopoldo Abarca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Leopoldo Abarca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Astor Petrigai, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Leopoldo Abarca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Inocencio Sidoro in the 40th minute of play. Club Atletico Fenix's Leopoldo Abarca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jesus Galo in the 45th minute of play. In the 46th minute Lucas Leizarraga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leopoldo Abarca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leopoldo Abarca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Astor Petrigai, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Angel Hanni to strike the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nemesio Rojelio during the 52nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Club Atletico Fenix's Beltrán Lucas got a free kick in the 89th minute. Club Atletico Fenix's Leopoldo Abarca proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save Club Atletico Fenix from getting a goal against them. Leopoldo Abarca made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Astor Petrigai sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Yalapa booed when Club Atletico Fenix was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raul Cristofol didn't get a good kick on the ball.
