Rick Lane made an important save on a dangerous shot by Elton Rowan in the 6th minute. Zachariah Quintana stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Corey Childers's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. If Percy Brantley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 19 minutes into the match, Thornton FC's goalkeeper Rick Lane had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alfredo Quinn. Montesa de Lugo's Zachariah Quintana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Darrel McCauley in the 20th minute of play. 32 minutes into the game, Corey Childers was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Thornton FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Montesa de Lugo the free kick. After a defensive mix-up in Montesa de Lugo's zone, Corey Childers stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zachariah Quintana came out of the goal and Corey Childers tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alfredo Quinn to strike the kick off in the second half. Corey Childers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Montesa de Lugo's Zachariah Quintana got control of the ball when Percy Brantley tried to sneak it across the goal line. 56 minutes into the match, Montesa de Lugo's goal looked a bit too open when Rodolfo Baltazar came free, but Zachariah Quintana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 59th minute, Percy Brantley ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Zachariah Quintana was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Alfredo Quinn took the ball and in the 63 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rick Lane. Rick Lane dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Montesa de Lugo's Zachariah Quintana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Percy Brantley in the 66th minute of play. 69 minutes into the game, Quentin Urmanski was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Thornton FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Montesa de Lugo the free kick. In the 69th minute, Quentin Urmanski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 76 minutes into the match, Alfredo Quinn notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Thornton FC's Rick Lane. Rick Lane was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Percy Brantley charged in rather forcefully in the 82nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Percy Brantley the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 83rd minute of the match Trent Stafford sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rick Lane skillfully saved the ball. After some careless play in the Montesa de Lugo defense, Darrel McCauley kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zachariah Quintana. The Montesa de Lugo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zachariah Quintana should have stopped the shot. Percy Brantley could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 93rd minute of the match, but Zachariah Quintana made a huge save. Zachariah Quintana made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Rodolfo Baltazar sent off a good shot on target. The Montesa de Lugo fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Thornton FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
