In the 6th minute Artur Brodel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christian Vidal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 9 minutes, Jardel Ferraz put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Christian Vidal. The audience was convinced that Artur Brodel's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Christian Vidal was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Ibiacuce's zone, Gino Mendonça stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luiz Fábio Carvalho came out of the goal and Gino Mendonça tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Calambau booed when Ibiacuce was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lúcio Xavier didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ibiacuce's goalkeeper Luiz Fábio Carvalho, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gino Mendonça was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 20th minute. Calambau's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. 21 minutes into the match, Calambau's goal looked a bit too open when Artur Brodel came free, but Christian Vidal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Christian Vidal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Artur Brodel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 29th play minute Christian Massa came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Luiz Fábio Carvalho. 2-1. The wind increased when Artur Brodel made the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Artur Brodel in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Christian Vidal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Christian Vidal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Artur Brodel, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Artur Brodel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ibiacuce's supporters rose to their feet, but Artur Brodel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Christian Vidal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 62nd minute, Gugu Saraiva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 65 minutes, Artur Brodel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ibiacuce's supporters crossed their fingers, but Artur Brodel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Artur Brodel couldn't finish the play. After 72 played minutes Calambau got a freekick which was hit by Tibúrcio Cunha. Artur Brodel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christian Vidal having to interfere. If Jardel Ferraz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Artur Brodel in the 88th minute of play forced Calambau's goalkeeper Christian Vidal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Jardel Ferraz came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Ibiacuce fans jumped to their feet.
