Celsinho Duarte blasted a shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Christian Vidal having to make a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Christian Massa got free with Wilian Trancoso in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 13th minute, Sidnei Carioca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 15th match minute, Calambau was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christian Massa to maneuver through the defense. Grumarim's Wilian Trancoso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Grumarim from getting a goal against them. If Celsinho Duarte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wilian Trancoso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dedê Secco in the 34th minute. In the 35th minute, Christian Massa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Wilian Trancoso was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Christian Massa got free with Wilian Trancoso in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Christian Massa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Calambau's supporters rose to their feet, but Christian Massa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wilian Trancoso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gino Mendonça fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilian Trancoso having to interfere. In the 47th of the match, Gino Mendonça tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Wilian Trancoso got in the way and made a wonderful save. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Celsinho Duarte was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 51 minutes, Paulinho Meira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Grumarim's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paulinho Meira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Celsinho Duarte fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christian Vidal having to interfere. 68 minutes into the match, Paulinho Meira notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Calambau's Christian Vidal. Christian Vidal was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 78 minutes into the match, Elói de Almeida had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Christian Vidal. Calambau's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Elói de Almeida was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. Calambau's Christian Massa got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Celsinho Duarte came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Grumarim fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Celsinho Duarte couldn't finish the play. The Grumarim players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
