Amílton Schmidt made an important save on a dangerous shot by Narciso Prata in the 25th minute. If Almir Senna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Alfredão Lara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Almir Senna in the 26th minute of the match. Alfredão Lara stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Diguinho Proença's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. In the 28th minute, Samuel Coelho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Túlio Bertassi in the 29th minute of play forced Clube Atlético Canhoba's goalkeeper Alfredão Lara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alfredão Lara came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by Caiapo's Almir Senna. But to his dismay, Almir Senna quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Samuel Coelho charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Samuel Coelho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 34th match minute, Clube Atlético Canhoba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Samuel Coelho to maneuver through the defense. When Caiapo's Almir Senna in the 37th minute got a chance for a shot 37th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Clube Atlético Canhoba's goalie prevented a goal. Clube Atlético Canhoba's Samuel Coelho shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 40th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Amílton Schmidt but with some difficulty. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

If Rony Varela had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Narciso Prata struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Amílton Schmidt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Clube Atlético Canhoba. Bernardo Penha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredão Lara having to interfere. A collision led to Clube Atlético Canhoba getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Narciso Prata hit a great ball. In the 88thth minute of the game Almir Senna who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Clube Atlético Canhoba's Alfredão Lara was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 93 played minutes, Clube Atlético Canhoba's Luís Paulo Dionísio shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Amílton Schmidt came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Clube Atlético Canhoba reached it. Adilson Prata hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. When the final whistle sounded Caiapo left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Clube Atlético Canhoba.
