Savas EC's Tostão Baiano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Moisés Prata in the 7th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Marcelinho Linares managed to get in a good position for a shot. Savas EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcelinho Linares was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gilmar Sampaio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 10th minute, Juvenal Sousa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marcel Teles struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Gilmar Sampaio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Savas EC. Robinho Vergílio kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Gilmar Sampaio came out of the goal in the 15th minute to try and stop a shot by Savas EC's Marcel Teles. But to his dismay, Marcel Teles quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Tostão Baiano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chicão Ortiz in the 22nd minute of the match. Chicão Ortiz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tostão Baiano having to interfere. 1-1 became the score in the 34th minute when Chicão Ortiz elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 37th minute, Juvenal Sousa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Aratama's Gilmar Sampaio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcel Teles in the 38th minute of play. Moisés Prata received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Tostão Baiano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 43 minutes into the match, Savas EC's goal looked a bit too open when Moisés Prata came free, but Tostão Baiano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 44 minutes into the match, Aratama's goal looked a bit too open when Marcel Teles came free, but Gilmar Sampaio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 48th minute the ball was on its way in behind Savas EC's goalkeeper Tostão Baiano, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Moisés Prata made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Chicão Ortiz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Moisés Prata in the 54th minute of play forced Savas EC's goalkeeper Tostão Baiano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Chicão Ortiz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Savas EC's zone, Chicão Ortiz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tostão Baiano came out of the goal and Chicão Ortiz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gilmar Sampaio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcelinho Linares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aratama's Gilmar Sampaio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcel Teles in the 74th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Moisés Prata in the 76th minute of play forced Savas EC's goalkeeper Tostão Baiano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
