Célio Lago was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ronaldinho Dracena didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Antônio Carlos Pombal went, in the 27th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. In the 31st minute, Fausto Coutinho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Jardim Julia's Fausto Coutinho got a free kick in the 36th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Manuel Arruda managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jardim Julia's supporters rose to their feet, but Manuel Arruda was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Célio Lago breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Zézinho dos Santos in the 56th minute of play forced Tucunupi FC's goalkeeper Célio Lago to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 64 minutes into the match, Jardim Julia's goal looked a bit too open when Antônio Carlos Pombal came free, but Ronaldinho Dracena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Zézinho dos Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luiz Paulo Ramos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronaldinho Dracena having to interfere. Manuel Arruda could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Célio Lago made a huge save. After 85 minutes, Júnior Furlan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tucunupi FC and the Jardim Julia players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Tucunupi FC getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Júnior Furlan hit a great ball. 88 minutes had been played when some careless play by Tucunupi FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Túlio de Salles was slow to take the kick. During this time Jardim Julia's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Jardim Julia's corner Túlio de Salles fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Célio Lago quite easily take care of the ball. Jardim Julia's Ronaldinho Dracena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antônio Carlos Pombal in the 92nd minute of play. Luiz Paulo Ramos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronaldinho Dracena having to interfere. In the 96th minute, Antônio Carlos Pombal left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Tucunupi FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2.
