Kapiting's Alexandre Teixeira got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 27 minutes into the match, Athletico Paranaense's Pedro Paulo Carvalho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jailson Santana narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 31 minutes, Alexandre Teixeira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kapiting and the Athletico Paranaense players grew even worse after the yellow card. Agostinho Marquez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 59th minute Jardel Esteves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Agostinho Marquez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alexandre Teixeira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Agostinho Marquez having to interfere. Agostinho Marquez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jardel Esteves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Walmir Simões fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jailson Santana having to interfere. If Alexandre Teixeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Agostinho Marquez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jardel Esteves in the 73rd minute of the match. Alexandre Teixeira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 77th minute, Alexandre Teixeira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 81 minutes into the match, Athletico Paranaense's goal looked a bit too open when Jardel Esteves came free, but Agostinho Marquez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Athletico Paranaense's Agostinho Marquez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexandre Teixeira in the 82nd minute of play. Walmir Simões took the ball and in the 90 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jailson Santana. Jailson Santana dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-2. Vladimir Berger kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. If Alexandre Teixeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kapiting's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
