The audience thought a goal was coming when Victor Moreno got free with Joel Saraiva in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Jefferson Vander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 42nd minute, Simão de Sena got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After the first half Sipeva EC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Daniel Tasso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Samuel Paranaense in the 56th minute of the match. 56 minutes in the game, Samuel Paranaense dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Urussui's Daniel Tasso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jefferson Vander in the 60th minute of play. When the match clock showed 72 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Simão de Sena sped through Sipeva EC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Joel Saraiva. Alfredo de Carvalho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
