Spectators: 7231 (Terracing: 5425, Seating: 1663, VIP seats: 143) Athletico Paranaense's Pedro Paulo Carvalho started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Wilian de Toledo came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Athletico Paranaense fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wilian de Toledo couldn't finish the play. Simão de Sena might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Agostinho Marquez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. The Urussui fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Daniel Tasso should have stopped the shot. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Simão de Sena stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Through an outstanding action, after 55 minutes, Daniel Tasso successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 56th minute, Walmir Simões hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Victor Moreno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Agostinho Marquez having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Simão de Sena in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Agostinho Marquez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Simão de Sena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. After 88 minutes of play, Urussui's Victor Moreno made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Agostinho Marquez was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jacinto Valle charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jacinto Valle the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Pedro Paulo Carvalho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Daniel Tasso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
