Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Waldemar Toledo started the match with the kick off. When Francisco Marquez fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Coelho E.C.'s protests and gave Francisco Marquez a yellow card for diving instead. In the 4th minute, Francisco Marquez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Silvério Silveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Carlos Trigo having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Silvério Silveira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Baroneza's supporters rose to their feet, but Silvério Silveira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zé Carlos Trigo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Coelho E.C. getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Francisco Marquez hit a great ball. Laerte Paranaense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Coelho E.C. booed when Baroneza was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andrézinho Cearense didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zé Carlos Trigo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Silvério Silveira, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Luís Paulo Castro kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Silvério Silveira struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Zé Carlos Trigo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Baroneza. 28 minutes into the match, Baroneza's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Alberto de Castro came free, but Ronaldo Vergílio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 32nd minute, Carlos Alberto de Castro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ronaldo Vergílio was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Silvério Silveira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 37 minutes into the match, Coelho E.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Silvério Silveira came free, but Zé Carlos Trigo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpected shot in the 39th minute by Laerte Paranaense got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Silvério Silveira in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zé Carlos Trigo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 44 played minutes Baroneza got a freekick which was hit by Luís Paulo Castro. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Carlos Alberto de Castro was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laerte Paranaense in the 54th minute of play forced Coelho E.C.'s goalkeeper Zé Carlos Trigo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 54 minutes into the match, Laerte Paranaense notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Coelho E.C.'s Zé Carlos Trigo. Zé Carlos Trigo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Laerte Paranaense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Zé Carlos Trigo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Coelho E.C.'s Francisco Marquez got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Silvério Silveira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. The referee showed Luís Paulo Castro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 78th match minute, Baroneza was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Paulo Castro to maneuver through the defense. 79 minutes into the match, Baroneza's goal looked a bit too open when Edmundo Vasconcelos came free, but Ronaldo Vergílio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 80 played minutes Baroneza got a freekick which was hit by Eduardo Luz. In the 84th minute, Silvério Silveira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 86 minutes into the match, Baroneza's Laerte Paranaense sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Zé Carlos Trigo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Coelho E.C.'s Francisco Marquez got a free kick in the 87th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Coelho E.C.'s zone, Laerte Paranaense stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zé Carlos Trigo came out of the goal and Laerte Paranaense tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Silvério Silveira took the ball and in the 89 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Zé Carlos Trigo. Zé Carlos Trigo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Baroneza fully deserved thier win.
