Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sílvio Mello made a kick off. Diego Medeiros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Celsinho Jacinto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sílvio Mello's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Diego Medeiros read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. Charitas EC's Diego Medeiros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Celsinho Jacinto in the 59th minute of play. Diego Medeiros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sílvio Mello in the 67th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 69 minutes, Sílvio Mello put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Diego Medeiros. After having played for 78 minutes, Ricardinho Borges managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Charitas EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ricardinho Borges was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
