José Vítor Vidal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nelsinho Pitta read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 7th minute of play. If Sílvio Mello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Celsinho Jacinto struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Renatinho Favoretto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Castelhano. Angelo Mandrak sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Salvarano getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Danilo Lopez hit a great ball. If Celsinho Jacinto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 25th match minute, Castelhano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Albertinho Freitas to maneuver through the defense. Nelsinho Pitta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Vítor Vidal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sílvio Mello received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Renatinho Favoretto came out and tried to block the shot, but Sílvio Mello slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 33rd minute. Nelsinho Pitta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Vítor Vidal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 39 minutes, José Vítor Vidal put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Nelsinho Pitta. Sílvio Mello received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Renatinho Favoretto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Renatinho Favoretto made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Nelsinho Pitta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Angelo Mandrak in the 57th minute of the match. In the 64th minute the ball was on its way in behind Salvarano's goalkeeper Renatinho Favoretto, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sílvio Mello in the 71st minute of play forced Salvarano's goalkeeper Renatinho Favoretto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Celsinho Jacinto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Renatinho Favoretto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Celsinho Jacinto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Salvarano booed when Castelhano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aírton Tróia didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Murilo Nogueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee ended the match the Castelhano players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
