Renatinho Nóbrega made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. When the match clock showed 17 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Douglas Viana sped through Nets's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Renatinho Nóbrega. 21 minutes into the match, Gilson Britto notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Nets's Renatinho Nóbrega. Renatinho Nóbrega was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Douglas Viana in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Renatinho Nóbrega prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 35 played minutes Rei Dos Antigos got a freekick which was hit by Douglas Viana. Joélson Figueiredo made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Jaime Guerra sent off a good shot on target. A beautiful save bye Nets's goalie prevented a goal. The Nets players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Rei Dos Antigos were winning 1-3.

Nets's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rei Dos Antigos the free kick. The supporters of Rei Dos Antigos booed when Nets was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ciro Mattos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Valdomiro Borges was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 76th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jaime Guerra in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joélson Figueiredo saved Rei Dos Antigos from getting behind. A collision led to Rei Dos Antigos getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Valdomiro Borges hit a great ball. After 85 played minutes, Nets's Edinho Saraiva shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Joélson Figueiredo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Nets reached it. The supporters of Nets booed when Rei Dos Antigos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Douglas Viana didn't get a good kick on the ball. Natã Pimenta kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. After having played for 91 minutes, César Carneiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nets's supporters crossed their fingers, but César Carneiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Douglas Viana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Renatinho Nóbrega having to interfere. The Nets manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Rei Dos Antigos to win.
