After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Lúcio Monteiro made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind PLAYSON FC's goalkeeper Osvaldinho Amaral, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jefferson Massa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Ediberto Sampaio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A hard shot 60 in the game by Ruy Ribeiro from a close distance when the talented Ediberto Sampaio managed to make a qualified save. S.C. Corinthians Paulista's players were relieved. Augusto Tande sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 63 minutes into the game, Wesley Costa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. S.C. Corinthians Paulista got a freekick which was hit by Wesley Costa.
