Spectators: 7194 (Terracing: 5397, Seating: 1654, VIP seats: 143) Farinna's Marcus Peres started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Marcelo Félix fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Birigui Knights EC's protests and gave Marcelo Félix a yellow card for diving instead. After 3 played minutes Birigui Knights EC got a freekick which was hit by Marcelo Félix. After 7 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Farinna! 12 minutes into the match, Birigui Knights EC's goalkeeper Frank Lopes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fabiano Cosme. In the 15th minute Carlos Alberto Neiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rafael Salles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fabiano Cosme sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 23 minutes into the match, Birigui Knights EC's goal looked a bit too open when Marcus Peres came free, but Frank Lopes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Birigui Knights EC's Carlos Alberto Neiva got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Carlos Alberto Neiva in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rafael Salles prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Emanuel Nóbrega hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Nando Vianna took the ball and in the 33 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rafael Salles. Rafael Salles dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Nando Vianna's late challenge caught a Farinna's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nando Vianna helped the player get up and apologised. Nando Vianna's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rafael Salles read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. Antônio Ceresso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafael Salles having to interfere. The Farinna players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Birigui Knights EC were winning 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nando Vianna was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Farinna getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Cacá do Vale hit a great ball. In the 56th minute, Carlos Alberto Neiva made a precise shot to the right of Rafael Salles. Farinna's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. When Sandrinho das Neves fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Farinna's protests and gave Sandrinho das Neves a yellow card for diving instead. With a little luck, Farinna's Rafael Salles got control of the ball when Carlos Alberto Neiva tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cacá do Vale during the 63rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 63 played minutes Farinna got a freekick which was hit by Cacá do Vale. When the match had been going on for 69 minutes, Birigui Knights EC's João Paulo Munhoz got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Rafael Salles. Fabiano Cosme fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frank Lopes having to interfere. A collision led to Birigui Knights EC getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Samuca Freire hit a great ball. Nando Vianna recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, Farinna's Rafael Salles got control of the ball when Carlos Alberto Neiva tried to sneak it across the goal line. Farinna's Rafael Salles proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Farinna from getting a goal against them. If Nando Vianna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 95th minute, Sandrinho das Neves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nando Vianna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Rafael Salles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carlos Alberto Neiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 99th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafael Salles having to interfere. Birigui Knights EC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
