Zerya Football Club's Enio Tande quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Geovanni Travassos, made in the 45th minute of the game. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Christian de Souza to make the kick off. Oscar Massa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Beto Leal having to interfere. 66 minutes into the game, Dieguinho Donatello cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Luiz Fernando Lira scored 4-0 in the 75th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Beto Leal, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Vivaldo Quadros's late challenge caught a Zerya Football Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vivaldo Quadros helped the player get up and apologised. If Dieguinho Donatello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Christian de Souza took the ball and in the 96 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Beto Leal. Beto Leal dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. Zerya Football Club's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
