In the 14th minute, Dráuzio Barral fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of José Pedro Toledo, passed just outside the right post. The audience was convinced that Gabriel da Cunha's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Guga Romero was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. Ema's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edgard de Castro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 45 minutes into the match, Praia do Pontal's goal looked a bit too open when Gabriel da Cunha came free, but Guga Romero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgard de Castro in the 48th minute of play forced Praia do Pontal's goalkeeper Guga Romero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Edgard de Castro made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Ema's Cássio dos Santos got a free kick in the 59th minute. With a little luck, Praia do Pontal's Guga Romero got control of the ball when Alexandre Valle tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Ema's zone, Dráuzio Barral stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Pedro Toledo came out of the goal and Dráuzio Barral tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. José Pedro Toledo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thiago Favoretto in the 66th minute of play. In the 67th match minute, Praia do Pontal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zeca Novaes to maneuver through the defense. After 68 played minutes Ema got a freekick which was hit by Cássio dos Santos. Gabriel da Cunha could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Guga Romero made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dráuzio Barral in the 79th minute of play forced Ema's goalkeeper José Pedro Toledo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Praia do Pontal were awarded a corner in the 80th minute after Ema's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Wilian Mello took the corner. Wilian Mello made a great header on Praia do Pontal's corner, it was just that Ema's José Pedro Toledo managed to reach the ball for a save. If Dráuzio Barral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
